Trengginas Facing Smart Society 5.0
“The development of technology in the 4.0 era with the emergence of artificial intelligence has caused disruptions in various aspects. Era smart society 5.0 is present to bridge the problems that arise in the era of 4.0,” explained Dr. Achadi Budi Santosa, M.Pd., at the opening of the semester’s public lecture.
Dr. Fitri Nur Mahmudah, the speaker, took the theme “Trengginas Facing Smart Society 5.0”. The theme gives an idea of how we are ready to face the era of smart society 5.0. Through the theme, the department can perform a self-evaluation in relation to the skills. Besides, it is to know if adaptation can be made to new situations regarding the utilization and advancement of technology in the educational and industrial sectors.
Further explained, the era of smart society 5.0 emerged in Japan in January 2019. It focuses on utilizing the cyber-physical human systems (human empowerment of technology and data), combining humans and technology. It aims to improve human welfare. Technology is to be used and innovated. Three things are necessary for embracing the smart society 5.0 era: re-skilling (creating new skills), up-skilling (improving and renewing skills), and compatibility (up-to-date proficiency and skills).
The lecture and orientation for the even semester 2020/2021 were conducted online via the ZOOM meeting (8/3/2021). The programs are regular activities to begin a new semester.
