Ready to Accompany PTK
Held online via Zoom and YouTube, the Master of Education Management (S2 MP UAD), in collaboration with the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM) of Banyumas Regency, held a webinar with the theme “Classroom Action Research (PTK)” (15/2/2022). Present as the webinar presenter were Dr. Fitri Nur Maheasy, M.Pd. UAD Master’s Degree Lecturer
In his remarks, the PDM Banyumas chairperson, Dr. Ibnu Hasan, M.Si, conveyed the Banyumas PDM’s spirit to advance the association, including through educational activities. This is evidenced by the number of schools managed in the PDM Banyumas environment from kindergarten to high school.
“We need to convey, in Banyumas we have 29 PCM from 27 sub-districts, we have 258 branches, schools in Banyumas over 80 including schools managed by ‘Aisyiyah women,” said Dr. Ibn Hasan, M.Si.
At the end of his speech, Dr. Ibnu Hasan expressed his gratitude to UAD, especially the Masters of MP UAD who wanted to share knowledge with teachers in the Banyumas PDM environment.
“This activity is part of the collaboration and the dedication of UAD lecturers in Muhammadiyah business charities in general, and this is with PDM Banyumas Regency,” said Dr. Suyatno, the Head of Study Program for S2 MP UAD, in his speech.
Dr. Suyatno also conveyed the socialization of the MP UAD Masters Program. There are several programs offered to study at MP UAD Masters, including the Muhammadiyah Charity Business (AUM) teacher scholarship throughout Indonesia in a 50% tuition discount.
The webinar was attended by more than 100 participants consisting of principals and teachers in the PDM Banyumas Regency with the moderator Sri Rahayuningish, M.Pd.
Dr. Fitri cites the ideas presented by Dr. Ahmad Mujib regarding the work of a teacher opening the material webinar.
“Because of the work demands, many doctors (health workers) often eat late and don’t have time to exercise. Due to the demands of the work of many teachers, lecturers don’t have time to read, writing is called “jarkoni” (can teach or not act)”, said Dr. Fitri, quoting Dr. Ahmad Mujib
Dr. Fitri asked a reflection question to the participants of the first webinar whether Mr/Mrs (teachers) were responsible for learning practices that had an impact on the enthusiasm of the students and secondly, how were students able to learn well what Mr/Mrs (teachers) taught.
Dr. Fitri explained that the definition of PTK from Prof David Hopkins is research that combines research procedures with substantive action, an action carried out in the discipline of inquiry, or an attempt by the teacher to understand what is happening while being involved in the process of improvement and change.
“One of the fundamental things for teachers in a lesson is to immediately take a certain stimulus or action when the teacher has experienced signs of problems found in a lesson,” said Dr. Fitri
In the webinar, it is explained about PTK in total and how to start and find sources in implementing PTK. The hope is that after participating in this webinar, teachers at PDM Banyumas Regency can directly write about PTK.
Before the event was closed, Dr. Suyatno responded to questions from the participants regarding the PTK assistant that the Master’s Degree MP UAD lecturer was willing to be a mentor if there were teachers from PDM Banyumas Regency who would carry out PTK. It is better and more efficient in terms of mentoring if from 1 school there are several teachers. This PTK also imitates what has been done at the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PWM) DIY. Several times, the UAD MPW lecturers have accompanied teachers at PMW DIY to carry out PTK.
