Post Pandemic Education Management in Facing The Smart Society 5.0
The Master of Education Management Study Program (S2 MP UAD) held the 3rd International Conference on Education, Leadership, and Innovation 2021 (3rd ICELI 2021) via Zoom and YouTube (27/12/2021). This activity is an annual activity which this year is the third implementation. The main theme of this seminar is “Post Pandemic Education Management in Facing The Smart Society 5.0”.
Dr. Suyatno, as the head of the UAD MPS S2 Study Program, welcomed the speakers, presenters, and participants and explained briefly about the implementation of the 3rd ICELI 2021. The theme taken at the 3rd ICELI 2021 looked at the existing situation and conditions, especially during the covid 19 pandemic. The world has experienced a COVID-19 pandemic for two years, and cases have fallen in the last few months. We suffer a lot, but there are some lessons that we can take behind that. There are at least three lessons that we can learn during this COVID-19 pandemic, firstly increasing the learning culture, secondly, establishing a culture of innovation, and thirdly adopting technology in learning. This lesson is capital for us in facing various challenges, taking various opportunities and developing multiple potentials, and experimenting and innovating to produce new things, especially in education.

This activity was opened by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP UAD), Dr. Dody Hartanto, M.Pd. In his remarks, he appreciated the committee, co-hosts, resource persons, and participants of the 3rd ICELI 2021. He further stated that this pandemic had changed many things in higher education, namely operations, teaching, learning, and management. Everyone in the world of education is exploring and innovating in the field of education during this covid 19 and preparing about what will happen in the world of education later after the pandemic ends.
3rd ICELI 2021 presents keynote speaker Dr. Muchlas, M.T (Rector of Ahmad Dahlan University), who gave material on “The Role of UAD in Preparing Human Resources for Smart Society 5.0”, and three speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Hamdan bin Said (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) with the theme “Challenges in and for Blended Education,” Associate Prof. Chwee Beng Lee (Western Sydney University) with the theme “Educational Technology Innovation During and Post Pandemic,” and Obert Hoseanto (Microsoft Indonesia) with the theme “Innovative Experiences in Digital Education.” The 3rd ICELI 2021 main session was hosted by the moderator Dr. Dian Hidayati, a lecturer at the Master’s Degree in MP UAD.

In this conference, 28 papers were presented with 80 presenters consisting of authors and co-authors from 16 universities in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. Publication of results in international journals published in IJEMI, EARR, and JEML. However, online activities did not reduce participants’ enthusiasm in participating in the 3rd ICELI 2021. It was proven by the persistence of presenters and general participants who attended parallel seminar activities in the afternoon. Hopefully, the pandemic will end soon, and We can meet on the 4th ICELI 2021 and be held offline.
